I have decided to create three little radio adverts as this is the effect that is used in local radio. They usually follow a pattern of National advert, followed by local advert before usually a competition or light hearted advert follows. So i have chosen to have my local newspaper advertised between a national movie and a competition.
For these adverts i will combine voice overs, music and sound effects to give them a professional finish and to make them more complex than without them. For example the first advert- an advert for the film 'The Book of Eli,' is a nationally renowned movie of quite recent times i felt it would be a good introductory advert to lead into my Newspaper's advert. I decided to have Lux Aeterna from Requiem for a Dream playing in the background as i enjoy the song and it has been used in many dramatic pieces before. For my second advert i will either have football sound effects in the background or have a part of Mumford & Sons - The Cave. The reason for this being the crowd noises will show that the newspaper aimed at a sporting audience, however the song by Mumford & Sons will show a light hearted calm feeling to the advert, also the song is a big chart hit so people can recognise and associate this advert to the music, a good ploy in the advertising world.
The last advert i will use Collapsed Lung - Eat my Goal because it is a song that has been used to advertise previous England World Cup campaigns and to advertise televised football matches throughout the years, so has been known to be quite the footballing anthem, to some people up there with World in Motion by New Order - with John Barnes and his famous rapping abilities. Also the tune leaves split second gaps for the voice to be heard more clearly.
Overall my radio advert should be just over a minute long with the three adverts edited and joined together to give the feel of a local radio station broadcasting them.
